The young survivors I met through treatment and support groups were such a big part of my own recovery, I knew I had to give back to the sisterhood of warriors that came before and after me. They are named for young breast cancer survivors I’ve met in my journey. Today I am on the precipice of launching my brand with bras for every occasion from running errands to black tie affairs. I took my fashion background and business acumen and started AnaOno Intimates, the only lingerie line exclusively for women who’ve had breast cancer-related surgeries. One to never settle for anything, I figured, if I couldn’t find a gorgeous, sexy, comfortable bra that fit my new body, I was going to go ahead and make one. ![]() I was devastated, frustrated and felt powerless. None of them fit, and the ones that were available to my body were glorified sports bras. With all I had been through, it was my own bras that nearly took me down. But I was totally unprepared for the new normal, the life that came after the doctors gave the all clear and sent me forth into my brave new world. I battled through the actual cancer and treatment part of the deal like a warrior.
